Teachers, Substitute Teachers and TA’s

The German American Society is hiring qualified and experienced German Language Instructors to substitute various classes, ranging from elementary to adult students. Substitute teaching can lead to a regular class teaching position.

We are a community of German speakers of all ages and skill levels. We provide first class training for energetic, creative and committed professionals. GLPOP Instructors provide students with foreign Language communication skills and cultural awareness with our traditional celebrations. Teachers apply the latest methodologies to meet highly customized students’ needs and conduct Language proficiency testing in reading, speaking and understanding for skills evaluation.

Minimum requirements for teachers

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s in German, linguistic or a related field. Native-like fluency in German, 2-5 years of teaching experience, demonstrated knowledge of the respective area’s history and culture. Also desired is experience in teaching language skills to adult learners, taking them from beginner level to proficiency in an intense setting. Highly desired is experience living/working and/or study abroad. Pay ranging with the amount of students in class, up to: $45. per hour. Classes are held Saturday mornings from 10am to 12:30 pm.
